This lecture explores the relationship between wisdom and creation.

• It defines wisdom as the knowledge of creation, as exemplified by the wise deeds attributed to King Solomon.

• It analyses various aspects of wisdom found in the Garden of Eden narrative, such as knowledge of creation, discernment and the tree of life.

• It examines the wisdom of creation in other texts of the Tanakh.

Seminář: Reflections of Ancient Egyptian Wisdom Literature in Biblical Texts

How might Israel have become acquainted with Egyptian wisdom literature? Ancient Egyptian texts are referenced in relation to various wisdom books, such as Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Songs, not only because of their literary similarities in terms of motifs.
